Philadelphia Brewing Co® releases a series of Select Brews seasonally

All Select Brews are unique and undergo extended fermentation, lagering or conditioning within our 60 barrel horizontal fermentation tank - known as "the pig" for obvious reasons. Select brews are released as the pig free's up - about once every two or three months. These one-off brews sell out quickly and are normally available on tap at finer beer joints around Philadelphia. Select Brews are released for draught service only.

Select Brew #9 - Kilty Pleasure Scotch Ale

Kilty Pleasure Scotch Ale exhibits a subtle aroma of vanilla and boasts a rich six-malt body tempered by heather and hops. Remember - when enjoying our latest seasonal draught in the nearest cozy pub, take your time.. because it’s cold outside. 8% alc. by vol.

Select Brew #8 - "Winter Wunder"

Winter Wunder is the perfect wassailing ale, brewed with a goodly amount of traditional holiday fair - plums, dates, cinnamon, allspice, clove, and a sprinkle of ginger all combine to fortify your spirits and warm your demeanour. "...." is best enjoyed with the warmth of a good tavern, in the clutch of good friends - new or old. Winter doesn't seem so long after all. A glowing 6.5% abv - only 100 quarter kegs originally packaged so get yours quickly!

Select Brew #7 - aka "Harvest from the Hood"

Harvest from the Hood is a wet hopped beer using fresh hops grown at our berwery and Kensington's own Greensgrow Farms. Brewed with close to 100lbs of hops for a single thirty barrel batch. This pimpin' ale comes in at 6.5% abv.

Select Brew #6 aka "Biberry"

Select Brew #6 - is a harmony of Blackberries and Raspberries fermented dry to provide a burst of fruit aroma, bright and tart flavor, and straight ahead thirst satisfaction! It's BiBerry and it rolls in at 4.5% abv

Select Brew #5 aka "Shackamaximum"

Select Brew #5 - dubbed "Shackamaximum Stout"; the big brew in the pig is an imperial stout aged on French Oak which will be released on March 7 at our open house grand reopening anniversary party. Launch Philly Beer Week the right way, with this 10% abv behemoth!

Select Brew #4 - AKA "JOE"

Select Brew #4 - aka "joe" is a robust coffee porter. Brewed with 50 pounds of locally roasted fair trade Peruvian coffee; this beer will make you think you are drinking a sweetened espresso. Joe is now in our Autumn/Winter line up and is available in both bottles and kegs!

Select brew #3 - aka "Philly'z Navidad"

Select Brew 3 dubbed "Philly'z Navidad" - a fresh, wet hopped black lager. We harvested four bushels of fresh hops right out of our courtyard garden and packed them into our hop-back. The result? Decide for yourself at finer draught service joints in December, but here's a word for you - X-mass-black-a-licious!

Select Brew #2 - aka "Phila-buster"

Select brew number 2 is a Wheat Wine sure to break up the ramblings of any political drone. This spicy, malty, brew, hides it's 9% abv like any politician hides links to special interest groups.

Select Brew #1 - aka "Fleur de Lehigh"

It was our first Select Ale and now Fleur de Lehigh is part of our regular line up for the summer months. This unfiltered golden ale is brewed with chamomile, rhubarb, ginger, rose hips, and lemon grass; then fermented with our Belgian yeast strain to provide a uniquely full flavored yet highly drinkable spring/summer brew. 4.2 % abv available in both bottles and kegs
