Harvest from the Hood Available briefly following each autumn's urban hop harvest. Harvest from the Hood is a true fresh-hopped ale with a deep auburn color and vibrant hop aroma. This annual brew is worth its weight in hops. Enjoy the flowers of our labor and see what the "hood" is buzzing about. Brewed with select hops grown by Philadelphia Brewing Co and Greensgrow Farms.
Winter Wünder Available Mid-November. Winter Wünder is the perfect wassailing ale, brewed with a goodly amount of traditional holiday fare - plums, dates, cinnamon, allspice, clove, and a sprinkle of ginger all combine to lift your spirits and warm your demeanor. Winter Wünder is best enjoyed with the warmth of a good tavern, in the clutch of good friends, new or old. Winter doesn't seem so long after all.
Shackamaximum Available Mid-December. In 1682 William Penn signed a treaty with the Native American leaders of the Shackamaxon village, which later became the district of Kensington, where our brewery is located today. This is a rich, dark brew made with chocolate and Munich malts and aged on French oak. We hope you enjoy sipping on this full bodied imperial stout.
Kilty Pleasure Available Mid-January. Kilty Pleasure Scotch Ale exhibits a subtle aroma of vanilla and boasts a rich six-malt body, tempered by heather and hops.

Broadcaster Brown Ale

Broadcaster Brown Ale

Description

How do you honor the 20th anniversary of an internationally embraced, beloved Philadelphia institution like WXPN’s World Cafe? Brew a beer, naturally.  Working with David Dye, the man at the heart of World Cafe, Philadelphia Brewing Co is proud to present - Broadcaster Brown Ale; a medium-bodied, deep red-brown hued ale brewed with American hops and oats along aromatic German dark malts. Just like World Cafe, Broadcaster Brown Ale is both satisfying, and contemplative; with a silky malt sweetness, the complex flavors of kilned German malts, and the dry finish of our American hops. Raise a glass of Broadcaster Brown Ale,  catch a bit of David Dye’s groove, and say Cheers! To another 20 years of World Cafe!
